Mathematics Assessment Collaborative (MAC)

A critical part of the Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative (SVMI) is to provide feedback on student performance for the purpose of improving instruction. With the support of the Noyce Foundation, SVMI member districts participate in the Mathematics Assessment Collaborative, which administers and analyzes performance tests based on the Balanced Assessment exam from the Mathematics Assessment Resources Service. Analyzing these formative tests based on national standards give teachers and districts snapshots of student understanding and informs professional development to improve student understanding.

The Noyce Foundation's support of MAC concluded on June 30, 2009, and MAC will transition to the San Jose State University Foundation.
