SVMI PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT MEETINGS

At SVMI Professional Development Meetings, coaches bring a team of teachers to participate in professional development together.  The goals of the workshops are to enhance teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge in mathematics.  The meetings target teachers of mathematics in grades K-8.  The workshops involve whole-group activities as well as a significant amount of time in gradespan groups K-3, 4-5 and 6-8.  These meetings are designed based on the outcome of student achievement on the annual MARS exam and follow the themes from the summer Coaching Institute; however, attendees don't necessarily have to attend the Coaching Institute in order to attend these meetings.  Participants attend sessions at the location closest or most convenient to them.  RSVP to cindy@noycefdn.org with the time and location that you will be attending.
